Starting a business in a country can be very difficult, the reason being that, you’ll have to rent a working space in a strategic location, buy some necessary things and then what you need for your business. These and many others are the factors preventing some persons from becoming their boss as they believe you’ll probably need millions to start up. But do you know that with as little as a #100,000 you can start your own business? Below are five of such possible ideas that you can start with that amount of money:

  1. PHOTOGRAPHY:
For this, you’ll need first to learn the nitty-gritty of the profession using a little amount of money, or learning using self-paced courses on the internet, so it’s necessary you own a laptop already otherwise you’ll be spending more than 100k. Now how fast you are at learning will determine how soon you can be the boss of your own. You’ll also need a camera, start with something within your budget and over time you can afford to buy the more expensive ones. Photography has come to stay in Nigeria, and the market can never be too crowded to accommodate an extra hand, so all you need to do is brand your firm the way you want it, targeting a particular demographic and boom, your money comes in daily. overtime you can consider buying the equipment needed to expand, but for a start-up, your camera and laptop are essential.
  2. WEB AND GRAPHIC DESIGN:
I have a friend who while we were still undergraduates went through the stress of learning graphic designing using self-paced courses on the internet, and today he has a fast-rising graphic design brand. All you need is a system that you can get for less than a 100k and a willingness to learn, and you’re good to go.
  3. CATERING SERVICE:
If you possess magic fingers in the kitchen and you’re creative with food, then this is a business for you. And the good thing is you don’t necessarily need to rent a space outside; you can render your services from the confines of your home for a start. All you need is an active social media presence, particularly on Instagram and Facebook, spend money on paid advertising so a lot of persons within your target market can know what you do.
  4. FREELANCE WRITING:
Now if you’re one who is good at writing and creating content, then this is for you, earn money within the confines of your home. You’ll need a laptop and an active social media presence on platforms such as Medium, Facebook, Instagram, and even LinkedIn.
  5. FOOTBALL VIEWING CENTRE:
This has become a very lucrative business in a different part of Nigeria as football is a much-celebrated sport across all ages and sex. And you don’t need much to start up with. Although with the issue of Covid_19 ravaging the country and other parts of the world, there was a major setback as public gatherings were restricted, but with the return of the football games, Nigerians have their way back to their favorite viewing centers or the one near them. So, if you own land already, have a TV, which I’m sure you should have, then you can consider venturing into this. You’ll need a generator (a small size would do), chairs (wooden bench and some plastic chairs would surfice) DStv, and you’re good to go.

These and a whole lot of other businesses can be started with even less than a 100k, so are you considering being an entrepreneur and don’t know where to start from, why not try out these.

What other businesses do you think you can start with using #100,000?
